Flood Management Workshop 2011

Adasa organized, with the support of Romanian and Spanish Public Administrations, the Flood Management Workshop 2011, which was held in Bucharest in 26th – 27th May.

Flood Management Workshop 2011 was an exchange forum of experiences and good practices between authorities of both countries who are in charge of flood risk management and a meeting point for specialised technicians and professionals of this sector.

On behalf of Spain, the Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs and the Catalan Water Agency collaborated, whereas in the name of Rumania, several institutions cooperated in the Workshop, such as the Environmental and Forests Ministry, the National Administration of Romanian Waters, the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Administration and the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest.

The workshop included information sessions by leading experts in hydrology, operational, hydrometeorology, radar precipitation estimation, emergency management and early warning systems. It provided the opportunity to further the knowledge of latest technologies applied and gather leaders and technology experts together to share successful techniques and strategies.
