The European Commission backs Adasa

April 2011

On May 2nd, it was confirmed that Adasa was awarded the first contract to work directly with the European Commission in Brussels, specifically with the Directorate General for the Environment. This project's scope includes development of reporting tools using the standards of this DG and aimed towards management of the reporting process by member countries of VOC Solvents Emissions Directive 1999/13/EC and Paints Directive 2004/42/EC.

The importance of this contract lies in the fact that it culminates an initial introduction process that Adasa has been carrying out in recent months with the aim of extending its area of activity directly to different European Commission Directorates General, so it marks the first milestone in this process. This success was preceded by different projects directly related with the European Commission, such as the technical assistance Adasa has provided in recent years to the Ministry of the Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs in the context of the Water Information System in the Reporting Working Group of the Water Framework Directive for the DG Environment and the European Environment Agency (EEA), as well as other less important contracts with the EMWIS (Euro-Mediterranean Information System on Know-How in the Water Sector) Technical Unit and with the Joint Research Centre (JRC).

Adasa is following a strategy of heavy international expansion, opening up new markets and carrying out important projects in Latin America, North Africa and Europe. Reasserting its international presence, we have recently been increasing marketing activities both presenting tenders directly to various directorates general of the European Commission (Environment, Climate, etc.), and responding to calls for proposals for different programmes linked to the sphere of innovation.
