Adasa at AEMET’s 125th anniversary

October 2012

The 125th anniversary of the creation of the Weather Service in Spain will be commemorated in 2012.

In all these years, the Weather Service has always been at the forefront of advances in meteorology, for the purpose of providing weather data, products and services to the public, contributing to the safety of personnel and their property as well as to the welfare and sustainable development of society as a whole.

In support of the State Meteorology Agency’s vision, Adasa is responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of AEMET’s radar observation system, which is comprised of 15 weather radars located throughout the national territory, the supply and installation of nivo-meteorological stations, as well as weather observation posts, guaranteeing the proper operation of the network and the accuracy of the measurements taken.

Adasa demonstrates their support for the Agency by supporting the commemoration of such a significant date. Proof of this is their patronage and participation in the hydro-meteorological services director’s meeting of Latin American Countries as well as North Africa, which will take place at Boadilla del Monte in Madrid from the 22nd to the 25th of October.

The purpose of this event is to promote the exchange of experiences and good practices between the different countries through thematic speeches and the organization of debated and work sessions.
